Tasty Burgers, Delightful Sweets & more | Vegan Café Emmi´s Kitchen in Munich

Having branches both near Viktualienmarkt and in Giesing (Munich), Emmi´s Kitchen is a popular vegan restaurant and café serving mainly burgers, but also bowls and sweets. It is especially famous for its delightful cinnamon rolls!

As I only went to the one in Buttermechlerstraße, this post refers to that one. But the menu is the same anyways.

About Emmi´s Kitchen

Located in a beautiful inner courtyard not too far from the Viktualienmarkt in Munich, it is a little bit tricky to find Emmi´s Kitchen at first. But once you found it, you will immediately be enchanted by the cute outside seating area canopied with vibrant green plants.

Of course you can also enjoy your food inside the stylish looking café. The inside of the cafe is bright and with wooden furniture.

! Because of covid, please wait for the staff to seat you.

Emmi´s Kitchen offers healthy bowls, crisp burgers and delightful sweets like cakes and cinnamon rolls. Drinks include coffee, soy latte, chai latte, hot chocolate and matcha latte.

If you are looking for gluten-free options, the bowls are a safe. On request the burgers can be made gluten-free as well by substituting the bun with gluten-free bread. And the walnut-carrot cake is gluten-free, too.

My Experience

BBQ Burger

I was looking forward to trying one of their burgers because they looked sooo good! I chose the BBQ Burger with romana lettuce, barbecue sauce, red onion, pickled cucumber, vegan cheddar and Emmi´s special burger sauce. The burger tasted really good, because of its size however it was a huge struggle to eat. It was too big to eat it with the hands and too slippery to eat with fork and knife. But, I absolutely loved the skin-on french fires! They were perfectly crispy and had just the right amount of salt. You can choose between a special mayo or a herbal dip to go with the fries.

Cinnamon Roll

As Emmi ´s Kitchen is famous for their amazing cinnamon rolls, of course I had to try one. It was surprisingly big, about the size of my hand, and sooo soft and fluffy with a good amount of delicious cinnamon filling. It was quite sweet, so perfect for a sweet afternoon treat.

Berry Cheese Cake

The cheese cake was not that sweet, which I liked. It had a soft bottom and the middle was nice and creamy with juicy cherries inside. On top was a fruity layer of berry jam. So yum!

Hot Chocolate

The hot chocolate had just enough sweetness and tasted like it was made with oat milk. I would definitely order it again!

Mango Tango Lemonade

This refreshing lemonade is more like a runny smoothie, which is great for summer. It came in a cute little glass.

If you decide to check out Emmi´s Kitchen yourself, feel free to share in the comments what you ate and how you found it.
